Even with the covid crisis, the pilot action in Barcelona has found a way to continue its work, moving the activities to an online format.
The different work sessions, interviews, focus groups and meetings were redesigned with innovative virtual methodologies and they lead to the realization of dynamic and participative workshops and sessions. The pilot action has given new steps in the research, design and prototyping of new skills, jobs and training programmes of the care sector. These new steps have been adapted to the emergent and urgent needs that the sector is facing due to the Covid-19. The crisis is serving to show and visibilize the precarious, difficult and fragile situation of the sector.
As a result of the work of Barcelona +Resilient project team together with other departments and collaborators of the City Council, the care sector has been included as one of the nine strategic sectors of the city. It has been studied and included in the last report of the Foundation for Professional Training of Barcelona about the impact of the Covid19 that analyzes the profile of employability and unemployment of Barcelona City.
