The workshops were organised by the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace, as partner in the project «Mediterranean Open REsouRcEs for Social Innovation of SociaLly ResponsIve ENTerprises» with the acronym +RESILIENT of the INTERREG MEDITERRANEAN 2014-2020 Programme.
Two workshops on Social Entrepreneurship were successfully organised in Komotini, on Wednesday 5 June 2019, and in Kavala, on Thursday 6 June 2019.
The +RESILIENT project is based on a 4-helix partnership of 8 MED countries coming together to tackle the need for innovation conducive to increased socially-responsive competitiveness of SMEs and to stimulate new jobs, especially for companies operating in the social economy.
The overall objective of the project is to positively influence and adapt the various structural aspects of policies on SVRCs “Clusters with high social vocation and responsiveness” through the use of dynamic technology-led innovation, open data bases, and successful models with social value and impact, by creating social value chains at an international level.
Within the framework of the workshops, the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace aimed to engage stakeholders in an analysis of opportunities and challenges that the social economy sector and social cooperative enterprises of the region are facing, in order to develop a participatory dialogue regarding proposed good practices.
Through the workshops, representatives of Social Cooperative enterprises, networks of social cooperative enterprises, and competent public authorities cooperated for the identification of use-case scenarios as the basis for the elaboration of a local action plan which will meet the particular needs and capacities of the social economy institutions in REMTH.
