Learning to be more resilient at the time of Covid-19: the regional Pilot Action in Veneto is moving forward
It is said that every crisis brings new opportunities. The sudden and unexpected spread of the Covid-19 virus and the consequent lockdown attempted to slow down our pilot actions’ activities and challenged us in many ways. But, eventually, our spirit of resilience prevailed!
In this context, the Veneto Region also had to rethink some of the activities of its Pilot Action, in a "smart" and innovative way, in order to face the new challenges and to keep on building the regional "SVR-Community of Practice to overcome skill mismatch". Thus, the two focus groups planned for early March have turned into 4 e-focus groups, on Zoom platform:
- 14th May 2020: Mismatch & Training – How training and development of human capital strategies will change after the crisis;
- 19th May 2020: Mismatch & Companies - Needs and challenges for companies in the new phase of recovery and sustainable growth;
- 21st May 2020: Mismatch & new risks of marginality - How to prevent and face the labour gap of the most fragile groups (before and after Covid-19);
- 26th May 2020: Policies and measures for re-matching, in the field of training, social innovation and inclusion.
In each virtual meeting we tried to deepen the issue of mismatch at a regional level and explore possible shared strategies, so that the needs of companies and workers - especially those at highest risk of social and economic exclusion - can meet each other more effectively.
A positive exchange of ideas, from the different point of views of the territorial actors and stakeholders involved, helped us to define a future scenario full of changes and challenges, possible actions and measures to face it, policy principles and guidelines for the future.
All the interesting outputs emerged will be the starting point for the future co-design activities of the next phase of the pilot action.
