Development of an interactive digital tool, mapping existing social responses in Central Alentejo, for searching and contacting social care providers. Citizens and families will be able to search social responses available in Alentejo Central according to specific selection criteria and easily contact selected organisations and schedule an appointment.
During the first stage of the project, the local stakeholders expressed interest in the development of a digital tool to access information on the regional supply of social care services and to guide the public in the search for responses to specific social problems. Considered a priority to improve social care in the region, the development of this new tool became the focus of the Pilot Action. The tool should be based on a digital platform to access the regional mapping of social responses, helping any citizen to find the appropriate services for any specific problem and supporting social organisations and other stakeholders (such as decision makers, social researchers and business operators) to interact and coordinate action. The digital platform should facilitate direct interaction with the public and between organisations, help structure social responses in the region and provide a guide for those seeking social assistance.
The Portuguese Pilot Action consists on the development of a prototype of this new interactive digital tool, as an Internet Portal (and App for mobile devices) that embraces all existing social responses in Central Alentejo, and includes several searching and interactive functions.
A Task Force was created within the Regional Stakeholders Group to supervise the development of the digital tool, in close interaction with the project team and the software developers. This will ensure that the results meet the stakeholders’ needs. The Task Force had already a couple of meetings and is now in the process of contracting the software developers.
